L’école primaire de My Trà se situe dans la ville de Sadec au Vietnam, à l’ouest du Delta du Mékong, Province de Dong Thap. C’est une école primaire comptant 367 élèves dont 210 sont demi pensionnaires. Il s’agira du 8è financement de cuisines-réfectoires scolaires pour RSF avec son partenaire local, l’Association Culturelle Franco Vietnamienne fondée et présidée par Madame Thât Peel Nguyen.
Visit of the My Trà school in Vietnam for a canteen project – Jan. 2018
My Trà Primary School is located in the city of Sadec in Vietnam, west of the Mekong Delta, in Dong Thap Province. It is a primary school with 367 pupils, 210 of whom are half-boarders. This will be the 8th school kitchen-canteen funding for RSF with its local partner, the Franco-Vietnamese Cultural Association founded and chaired by Mrs. Thât Peel Nguyen.
Pour ce projet, nous avons visité le site et participé à une réunion préliminaire où étaient présents, les dirigeants de l’école, le responsable de l’éducation nationale du district et le responsable du parti. Il s’agissait d’évaluer la faisabilité de la construction d’une cantine pour remplacer la bâtisse existante.
For this project, we visited the site and participated in a preliminary meeting attended by the school leaders, the district education officer, and a local member of the party. The aim was to evaluate the feasibility of building a canteen to replace the existing structure.
Si l’école est en bon état général, la cuisine-cantine faite de tôles enchevêtrées et de bâches à même la terre battue. Les repas sont préparés et pris dans des conditions sanitaires et d’hygiène très insatisfaisantes comme en attestent les photos ci-dessous.
If the school is in good general condition, the kitchen-canteen is made of tangled metal sheets and worn out plastic tarpaulins directly on the ground. The meals are prepared and taken under very unsatisfactory sanitary conditions and hygiene as evidenced by the photos below.
La cuisinière prépare le « café » à 9h, le déjeuner à 11h et un snack à 15h avant le départ de l’école. Le repas de midi est pris en 2 vagues de 100 élèves dans des conditions de préparation et de consommation extrêmement précaires.
The cook prepares the « coffee break » at 9 am, the lunch at 11 am and a snack at 15h before the departure from school. The lunch is taken in 2 waves of 100 students in extremely precarious conditions of preparation and consumption.
